I haven't done a giveaway since I've rejoined the crafting world so, I think now is a good time to do one.

Starting today - this giveaway will end on January 1st, when the winner is chosen by a cool computer program I found. We put the number of entries for the giveaway in the computer, and it chooses a number. Very cool!

Auction Results!

The results for the Emily Jones Auction are finally in.

The auction ended on Saturday, and between all 100 or so items, $5,820.50 was raised! What a great display of Christmas spirit - some of the women who donated items had cancer and were receiving cemo-therapy treatments, but still found the time to make something for this great cause. Others who purchased items, paid way above retail value, and when they received their bill for the items won, paid double their total, etc.

Thank you so much for everyone who participated in this - you're awesome!

They are even thinking of making this a yearly ordeal - next year you can nominate a needy family in your neighborhood, and if chosen, all of the proceeds from the auction will then go to that family.

As for J Crafty Designs - we donated 3 items, a cute Christmas onesie with matching crochet headband and hairbow, a cute leopard print flower hair clip, and a crochet headband with 2 flower clips. Alone we raised $40.00 at the auction! Thank you so much to those that purchased these items! :)

Emily Jones Memorial Auction

A few of my items are being auctioned off for a great cause - John Jones was killed in a caving accident in Utah 2 weeks ago. He left behind his wife, Emily, who is expecting a new baby in June, and a young daughter.

There is an auction being held over at A Daily Scoop - http://adailyscoop.blogspot.com/ - where funds are being raised to help Emily and her small family pay bills, funeral expenses, etc. They have around 100 items and services being auctioned off. If you still have some Christmas shopping to do, or just want something for yourself - please look through the items and see if there is something that catches your eye. I'm sure the family would greatly appreciate it.
